A Letter to Our Members
From: Our Founders–multiple generations of oceangoing monkeys, with salt in our hair, sand in our ears, and surfing in our blood.
Our team has spent the better part of our lives in the ocean, traveling to some of the world’s most remote coastlines in search of perfect waves. Our adventurous spirit remains, but we’ve also realized that some of the best adventures happen close to home—and that California, the birthplace of the wetsuit and the shortboard, is a truly incredible surfing destination, one to be shared with each other and the many generations of surfers to come.
For these reasons, we’ve created the vision for the California Surf Lodge and the international CASL community. We’ve combined our passion for the California surfing lifestyle with accommodations up and down the state and partnerships with watermen (and women), ocean enthusiasts, and board riders in destinations around the world.
CASL is our legacy to pass on to future generations, whom we hope will cherish the beauty of our oceans, practice the sport, and embody the surfing lifestyle as much as we did during our short, but salty time here on Earth. The only AI we’ve ever really cared about was the legend from Hawaii who left us too soon. Our nudie pics aren’t selling online, and we’re not all that interested in surfing the internet anyway…
… And if all goes to shit, the dream of CASL is never realized, the California Surf Lodge is never built, and we never find that perfect wave, at least we’ll die trying. Because we know Nick would—perfect ain’t possible, and there’s no such thing quite like the real thing. Stay salty, keep searching, and welcome aboard.
FAIR TO GOOD,
